Together with Peter Lang, allan already won bronze at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 49er class.
What was your biggest challenge as a team?
Combining our very different personalities to a great performance on the water. Our diversity is our strong side but it is tough to make it work.
What is your best or most memorable result/win on your Road to Rio? Sailing, qualifying, mental, physically?
Silver at the World Championship 2016 in Clearwater, just after we found out we’ re the Nacra 17 duo going to represent Denmark in the Rio Olympic Games. Three regattas were used in the Denmark national selections: 2015 Europeans in Barcelona, 2016 Miami World Cup, and the final 2016 World Championships in Clearwater. It was a big relief that the trial was over, and suddenly we were in a surprisingly good position at the World too, which we didn’t know because we were defending our trial. It’ was really surprising for us that we would end up so high on the scores, really just a bonus for us to go out there and fight for a medal. It turned out as good as it could for us, cannot complain!
What do you like best about the Olympic Sailing Venue?
It its really beautiful nature. Also we love the locals here. They are so friendly and help some. It’s really a great openhearted culture.
What will your last few months before the games look like?
A lot of sailing 😉
