The final day of the competition confirmed Polish Crew Dominik Buksak and Szymon Wierzbicki as
the winner in the 49er class, followed by Italians Uberto Crivelli Visconti and Giulio Calabrò, in
a dramatic last day, when after racing a protest between the Polish and the Italians could have
changed the outcome of the results.
With the wind blowing from Est, between 8 and 16 knots, the winners were confirmed in the last
races of the Portugal Grand Prix (Round 2).
In Nacra 17, The French Tim Mourniac and Lou Berthomieu finished victorious, with Denmark’s

choose Vilamoura for their preparation, to hold the Portugal Grand Prix race, a world ranking
for the 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17 classes.
The mild climate, great sea and wind conditions for sailing, made Vilamoura the choice of 70
countries, to make their winter preparation.
Vilamoura Sailing Center Center just about reached its maximum capacity with the presence of about 400 sailors, the most important teams in the world.
For Isolated Correia, director of Vilamoura Marina, the Vilamoura Sailing project is “a source of
pride for the Vilamoura Marina. In the last five years it has brought Vilamoura more than
15,000 athletes from 83 countries. With the activity to focus over the winter, this project
effectively combats seasonality.”
